Challenge
Sporting goods customers needed fluid digital-to-physical store experiences, instant search across expansive gear catalogs, reliable Gift Card split payments with instant refund processing, and secure OAuth 2.0 login sessions across omni-channel touchpoints.
Business problem
Traditional server-rendered search and multi-tender gift card checkouts caused friction and drop-offs, while login flows required hardened security against credential vulnerabilities.
Solution
Developed key features for DOSA (Decathlon Omni Shopping Applications) using Next.js, React.js, and Java backend services. Implemented Algolia faceted search and filtering, Swiper.js touch-optimized product galleries, gift card balance and refund processing, and PKCE-secured authentication flows.
Architecture
Next.js and React frontend with Redux-Thunk asynchronous state management, Algolia search engine integration with debounced client queries, PKCE OAuth 2.0 authorization, Swiper image carousels with lazy loading, and RESTful Java/SQL services.
Implementation
Built advanced Store Page locators with local stock availability, integrated PKCE authentication flow for secure customer logins, and engineered resilient gift card payment/refund logic with comprehensive validation states.
